Update 02-15-10

Home Again Rescue has to shut down as my husband was offered a job 2 hours from where we are located as was I, so we need to move/relocate. Since we have to move we can no longer take in any more dogs and are looking for rescues for the ones we have now, or forever homes would be the best. We work out of our house so this is why it must be done. The sooner it happens the better as we need to get the house fixed, new carpet and the list goes on so we can put the house on the market. We may or may not re-open the rescue over in Mississippi. We may just consider fostering for another Dalmatian Rescue, since both of us will have jobs we just wont have time to do the rescue anymore. It was fun, frustrating, rewarding, stressfull, giving and everything else while we did it. We want to thank everyone who supported us in the 1 1/2 that we did the rescue. The new jobs offers are life changing and I can not wait until we get over there.

If any rescue can help take some of our dogs let us know, we will keep the webpage up for awhile so I can put our story up and so I can promote future dogs that may be fostered.

Thank You

Update 01-28-10

We come into the new year busy. There have been alot of dalmatian and dalmatians mixes in need but we have not been able to pull do to financial hardship.

We do have good news though as Sweet Pea and Rascal got adopted over the last month. Rascal has been with us for a year now and we finally found her a perfect home. Sweet Pea didnt take long to find her a home as she was just such a cute. Thanks to Tanya Kittrell we were able to get Sweet Pea to South Carolina.

We will be working on continuing to reduce out numbers before we pull more. We have had a couple generous donations toward some of hour dogs to help them get them the vet care they need.

Thanks to David Lewis, Becky Connrad, Jodie Kelly, J Clemons, and Edgar Muffin for recent donations.

UPDATE 12-11-09

Alot has happened in the last 3 months!! Judy, Dixie and Bunker have all found homes. Judy went to Chattanooga, TN, Bunker and Dixie both went to firefighters over in Mississippi. They are all doing so well. Daisy is also pending adoption and so far its going very well.

We also brought in another Dal a couple months ago from the Athens dog pound. We named her Whisper as she is Deaf, though that doesnt stop her from barking and making her presence known. She ended up being around 14 years old. She is most likely HW positive, has arthritis and flea allergies. She will most likely be with us for the rest of her days.

We dont always bring in Dalmatians, when others are urgent we try to work them in when we have room.

This is Fletcher he is an English Bulldog Mix around 4-5 years old. His named used to be Idgit, but we have a little dog named Gigit and we were having a head time training with Idgit and Gigit! LOL We have no idea what he is mixed with! He was rescued from the BJC animal control in Birmingham AL. He was just there to long. I dont know how he was overlooked because he is so precious, with a great personality.

He is good with other dogs but he doesnt like to live with them. He wants to be the only dog in his house. He will go out and play with other dogs all day long and enjoys himself but wants you to himself. We are working on this cause here he has no choice but to live with other dogs and he is doing well. But he sure wouldnt mind if he was the only one to get all the attention. He loves to go for walks, we are working on the heal command, which he is doing very well. He knows how to sit and he is learning how to run on the treadmill. We are also teaching him how to be gentle when taking treats! He follows you around the house and lays where ever you stop. He is in kennel training and house training. He has only had one accident thus far.He is a strong boy and can get excited with new people so small children are not recommended. Fenced in yard required.

Home Again Dalmatian Rescue is a non profit rescue that rescues Dalmatians and sometimes other purebreds, you can read more about us under the "about Us" link. We mainly rescue Dalmatians that are in Urgent need of Rescue that are in Kill shelters and up for euthanization. We rarely take in owner release Dalmatians but treat each case individually and have taken Dalmatians from owners before if they wre to go to a kill shelter or were living outside. If you would like to give a home to a rescue Dalmatians you are in the right place. These Dalmatians have gone through alot and are now safe and looking for wonderful homes that will never abandon them again. We work out of our home so in order to see out Dalmatians an appointment must be made.
Please bear with us while our page is under construction, we had to switch out hosting provider. Some of the links will not be working (01-25-10) Thank you
