All of our dogs come from kill shelters across the southern states or
where strays. With the Help of other Rescues and dog Lovers we are able
to pull them and bring them here. HADR then takes them to the vet, trains,
socializes and cares for them until they find loving homes.
Adopting a Dog from us
The Adoption Process begins with the Adoption
application located to the right of this page. Our adoption
fee varies depending on the dog. This helps our rescue give vaccines and worming to another dog
that comes our way.
Anyone interested in one of our dogs MUST fill out an application. If you call there will be a full interview asking the same
questions on the applicationor you will just be referred to the application. The references are required and WILL BE CONTACTED.
A house check is also required, which will be done by us or an approved
rescue in your area. We require that you have a fenced in yard and that
your dog is an INDOOR dog. There are a few exceptions to the rules that can be discussed on a case by case bases. We do adopt out of state, but we do not to fly
our dogs on commercial airlines. We prefer ground volunteer transport
by approved people. As soon as you are approved for adoption then a transport
will be set up to get the dog to you. Feel free to contact Gilda Turner
(info on Contact Page) who is our transport coordinator and director to see if she can
assist you. If you have any other questions about requirements you can read
the adoption contract provided under the Forms Link.
We do adopt alot of our Dogs to families with children, so if
you have children there is a dog out there for you, even if its not the dog you pick!
